Suggested Placement of Motion Sensor

Face the motion sensor slightly tilted so that the sensor can detect better due to a change in the infrared ray direction through the Fresnel lens. The sensor uses passive infrared sensor to detect changes in temperature. As such, when a person opens the door, or walks pass the detector, it will ‘see’ the infrared emitting source- which is the person. In addition, the sensor ‘sees’ the source moving across the field of view much better than if the source move toward or away from it.
